Columbia High School
Eau Claire High School
The Shamrocks used a 17-0 run in the second quarter to defeat the Capitals of Columbia High School. The Shamrocks were led in scoring by Garret Crouder who scored a game high 19 points. Javon Randolph chipped in scoring 10 and Robert Johnson scored 12. The Shamrocks used an aggressive pressure defense to force 24 turnovers and although they shot just 37% from the floor the defensive pressure was to much for the Capitals to handle.
From the coaches seat: I thought our defensive effort was tremendous tonight. The second unit; Jordan Howell, Henry Gibbs, Darius Montgomery, Khaliq Brown, Tyrone Hiller, and Quintez Bradley really stepped up the intensity and changed the game when they entered. We have a lot of work to do on the defensive end of the court if we want to compete for a state championship by the seasons end, but a win is a win and we will go for two in a row on Tuesday at home vs. Silver Bluff.
